I can see why people get frustrated on-line. I am new to the Bdsm~on-line searching and have now come to know what Frustrates people. I know Domms and Dommes, that it goes both ways. We all have to climb the latter of the Bdsm Relationship/Lifestyle. Your looking at the top and can see how close You are to achieving Your Goal. Just then
You turn Your face and "POW!" You hit a brick wall. You find out that they had more to there profile then what it said. {Other subs/slaves, they forgot to tell You about! {yeah right} Other Dommes or Domms}
We all get scared in someway I can see. People leave the Bdsm on-line experience, because they can't keep going thru the Dark tunnel. There is light at the end~
{No crystal balls here to weed out the fakes.}
I've learned that Patience is a virtue~~
I've also leanerd that,

I was frustrated for years, being single and after being married. It is fairly easy to express your hidden desires online in a forum that caters to bdsm, and that's why there are so many fakes and wannabes online. If a requirement for membership was an in-person interview, that would change things dramatically. I also thought that the only way to fulfill my desires would be to meet someone in this type of virtual meetingplace. The reality that I discovered, is that what I was looking for was right under my nose, and after several separations and getting back together, is that my partner had a naturally dominant personality, and all I had to do was express my submissive desires, instead of hiding it in real life. I understand the frustration, but there will always be things in life to be frustrated about, even after you meet the one of your dreams.......so we just have to deal with it.....right?

i do believe most people tend to paint themselves in the most positive light available not only online but in real life as well. It is more rampant here however because it is more anonymous. i would look at it this way, every fraud you have to sift through brings you closer to the real thing.

Personally I don't think people paint themselves favoably.

Take me for example. I really do look like a manly version of Fabio. I really do own several multinational companies. I really have a 19' penis.

OK, a good part is also the decision to limit what you say. In my profile I forget if I mention I'm a divorced daddy. Personally I don't think that info is vital, but someone may. I would not say a charge I'm lying by omission on my profile is justified.

knees, I think part of the problem is the lack of comprehension, or just plain NOT reading the profile. I used the term poly household in my comments. One male that contacted me was quite enthusiastic over being in a situation with two Dommes, but he became irrate when he found out there would be other males??? Interesting to me, so I asked did you think two Dommes just sat around without a sub or slave?? I did not receive a reply. Another problem I find is a large number of males do not take advantage of the comment part of the profile, usually leaving it blank. A simple statement would help them and the Dominant looking at profiles. As to what they are and what they seek. Sundew

Unfortunately, this same frustration occurs in real-time D/s relationships. Dominants with other submissives (Not that this is a bad thing, just make sure that people know you're poly prior to getting involved), married submissives who want a Dominant presence in their lives and cant get it from their spouse. (Also no problems with this...just be honest with yourself and all people involved.)

The dangers with online is that anyone can say anything about themselves, change their name, change their font, play games, send pictures, and basically lie their asses off.. and there is no real way to confirm that what they are saying is true. The other danger about online relationships, is that they can be very intense on the emotional and psychological levels, (As the physical aspects are kinda hard to accomplish in the virtual world.) When someone if found to be less than what they said they were...or caught lying, etc.. you feel it deeply. Of course, the same thing happens within real-time relationships, but with real time, it's more difficult to hide your true self.

Anyway..keep up the good fight.

It mystifies me somewhat that the on-line medium doesn't work much better than it does.

I think people often read the few lines that someone has written as an introduction and misinterpret them. Perhaps there is a tendency to want to figure out what someone is all about before the facts are really in, and so the imagination provides all the missing details.

On the other hand,
I've gotten e-mail from people that conveys only their gender and the fact that they're horny. Otherwise, it is completely lacking in content. In some e-mail exchanges it seems that to get any information about these people's personalities would require an interrogation scene.

I completely agree, it gets so old and worn out when someone just reads the first few words and think they know everything. They tend not to look into the soul of another. They tend some to jump the gun and figure right away what you have is not what you need. What is really worse is when im contacted by a Master and requests i write him, and did not bother to read the profile, for if he had he would find out im owned and not searching for a Master or Dom to own me or to control me. I really wish people would take the time to get to know others,to be friends and give support where needed.
