The Wicker Man film follows the book virtually word for word which is refreshing. In some Pagan Communites way back in the Good Old Days pre Christianity, there were sacrifices of animals made by enclosig them in a man like figure made from wood and then set on fire. This was done if crops failed. At times human prisioners were also encased within the wicker man also and burned. If the crop failure happened the next year the king ir ruler was to be burned in the wicker man as the representitive of the god. Such sacrifices occured at Beltain (May Day ~ also known to have young ladied leaping over a bale fire in the hopes of findiung a mate and falling pregnant. <<<Shuts up and refuses to even think about what happened in the 60 strong original coven in Western Australia at one Beltain and leapig over the bale fire with several ladies in succession....>>>>) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence! Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent! (Calvin Coolidge) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's all in the game and how you play it!
