Just wandering what type of Feelings does Hot wax
give the slave Does it Excite him, does it cause him nothing but Discomfort. Or none of the above?? I've seen pictures of it and I'm not
sure if it stimulates any part of his body

I am talking female subs and slave. This could also be the same fore males subs and slaves. I know there are some who are pain sluts and they get into any kind of pain. When is comes to hot wax play technique can make a difference on how the sub/slave can take the pain or if it excite them.

Ice followed by hot wax minimizes the pain, i find it very erotic and stimulating in the right places

I'm only speaking for myself here but I love hot wax. Of course we do it right so it doesn't burn. We only use paraffin. The candles we use burn at 118F so not even a first degree burn. The only time it really hurts at all is when it hits a sensitive area.
Wax temp also changes depending on how high you hold it above the victim.
Time to cool down as it drops.

Anyway...to me even when I am not doing it and I am on the recieving end. It's like coloring with crayons. I just love it. The kid in me comes out.

I'm sure that was'nt quite the answer you were looking for but its mine.

Well I'm not a 'him', but I LOVE wax play. it makes sensitive nipples both stand up and cringe at the same time, the conflict is wonderful. I've not yet had it on my clit, but...one day :) It also feels wonderful rolling down between the cheeks...<g>

As long as you are careful not to get too close, it should be nothing more than a warm sensation, combined with the trickling and dripping, which tickles as it splashes...

I dislike candles.

I prefer to ladle, pour, or brush it on.

I tend to find that being able to coat someone is a lot more satisfying for both people than just a few drips at a time, took FOREVER with candles LOL.

That being said, since I use paraffin and a fondue pot, it's a hell of a lot warmer so I do need to be more aware of people's skins tolerance and pain threshold, far more than when I just used candles.

It's also a hell of a lot more intense of an experience. As to that I'd say, you had damn better have it done to yourself or do it to yourself first so you really have a damn good idea what intensity you will be playing at, because it raises the intensity of wax play through the roof, and is NOTHING remotely like having candles used!

I'm in total agreement with you here. I used to use paraffin and a crock pot with an external rheostat. The low, med, hi settings on the crock pot did not enable the wax to be cool enough to use, so I added something that let me crank it down cooler. Now I use a paraffin bath for hands (but would LOOOOVE to have one big enough for feet).

I've found that if you poor the wax on, let it cool enough to set a bit, then repeat (multiple times) it can be quite 'coccoon like.' If you then peel off large pieces while blowing cool air on the skin as you peel the wax off it creates the most incredible sensation (and reactions).

But wax is messy. You can lay a drop cloth, you can be careful about how you remove and dispose of it, but it's still messy. Subs that get wax in my dungeon are subs who have already proven their eagerness to do an exceptional job cleaning the dungeon afterwards (without benefit of 'supervision').

Yes, it's possible to make wax play painful (and to cause burns doing it), but doing it as a sensual scene can get a bottom to a headspace that could take longer to get to taking other directions. Once you've got them there what you do with them is your business.

You can make an intense scene just as sensual however. That being said, you can make a very painful scene sensual as well.

As for cooll enough to use, you can use it almost straight out the fondue pot, and all it's using is sterno, and yuppers, I have had it done to myself multiple times all over. It's damn intense. But hasn't burned me or anyone else yet - but then I'm careful too.

As for messy, all I have to say is ... shower curtains from a dollar store. You can often buy three for a buck. Disposable wax drop cloths so you can cover just about anything, and you can easily just pick up the corners, tand then crack the wax back into the pot if you are able to reuse it. If planning to reuse it, well I'm anal enough to make sure each person has their own *vat* or I throw out the wax and start anew - it's cheap enough after all.

My cast iron pot holds 4 blocks of paraffin wax, so yanno, enough to really go to town with and it's easy to melt more as I go along.

A friend recently gave me one of her great little ideas - while the wax is still warm, and pliable, after it's on pretty thick, cut it open down to the skin, peel it back, and then fill it with ice, and pour more hot wax over it, sealing it in a little wax pocket to melt.

And yeah I the wax when it's thick, I tend to ah ... sculpt it. hehehee

I really like using candles, but I only use white candles when doing this. I have used other colors but they tend to be more hot. I do like parafine as well but that should be brushed on. I like to use ice first, then hot wax. Depending on the persons pain tollerance I will then decide how intense it will be. It can be very erotic and fun.

I like candles for the quick intense sting they give.. the way they create that intake of breath.. I also like them for knife play.. lil droplets to slide the sharp edge of a blade underneath and flick away..good mind fun.. I have a parfin bath thing I won at a bdsm event.. but Ive yet to use it.. soon though I keep promising myself.

Although i'm not much into pain, i found wax play to be very enjoyable. It does indeed take one's breath away, is even better when blindfolded and have no idea where it'll hit next.

I fully and completely disagree with the use of the word *should*.

As one that has personally been under all forms of wax and manners of applying I can 100% safely say that paraffin can be used safely in a bunch of ways. Needless to say I can also say that 100% of the times I have used parrafin via ladeling, pouring, etc, not once has there been a compliant - or any *need* for a compliant.

Common sense needs to be used as with all things, and that would be the only *should* I could see being applied there.

Please folks, if it's your opinion, please do the courtesy of taking the time to type it, even if it's just typing "IMO".

Should makes it into a different statement unless the disclaimer is there, so it's hard to tell if you mean to state facts or just an opinion unless you make the effort to put that across.

GREAT TOPIC and one of my favorite activities! I waxed 2 male subs last night at our local munch/play party. First I use a shower curtain on the floor and a parafin <sp?> spa for hands and feet to warm the wax. I do not oil or ice my subs but I do recommend shaving them first so they are not screaming their heads off when the hair on their gentials is ripped out like a to remain nameless sub did last night

. I like to drip, ladel, pour , splash or brush on the wax. I like to do the gentials best but also will do whole body waxes leaving a space on the spine and the face open. I use ALOT of wax.... I put on multi coats of the parafin and sometimes use voltives candles as well on top of the parafin to give a pretty color effect. You can make channels to the skin so fresh hot wax can get in once several coats have cooled... that is alot of fun for me to watch, you can put ice on top the wax, you can use knives to take the wax off for edge play, you can stick two subs together and watch them scworm<sp?> I just LOVE WAX play. Oh and it is not very hot either as someone already pointed out if the wax is held above the sub. But I LIKE IT HOT! So I tend to pour close to the body once base coat is on. Blessings MsDawn
