My only suggestion is to get a slave from CM to clean the blinds.

STOP SMOKING, CANDY!

I had an early Macintosh that had been used by a ship's captain who had been a smoker. I took the machine apart to clean it and learned first hand how diabolically sticky cigarette 'tar' is. I forgot what solvent I found, but it was NASTY stuff.

STOP SMOKING, CANDY!

Horizontal blinds are nasty.

Stop smoking and take the money you save and buy vertical ones with quick release mounts. They don't get as dirty and when they do, you can take them outside and power wash them.

As an FYI ... power washing cleans ANYTHING and is really fun too. Last summer I power washed everything that wasn't nailed down or an actual living pet. Totally cool for clean freaks like me, and my foster parents now consider me useful.

Yep, caitlyn, you certainly would be useful on campus! Hose down barfing freshmen, smelly sophomores… yep, totally useful.

Take the blinds down and take them into the shower with you....wash your blinds in there, the shower will hit the tough angles, then when you get out and dry, leave them in the shower to dry overnight.

Tips from Fastlane...LOL

You could not smoke in the house.

Seriously though I hear white vinigar is a good cleaning agent, and bakingsoda is handy for cleaning but don't mix them both together it'll just produce hydrocloride gas or one of those tyes of gas I am told

Bought a hand-held steam cleaner; kinda slow but does the trick.

Miniblinds are about $6 unless you must have the fancy ones.

A can of white spray paint is about $6.

Depending on what your time is worth this gives two options. Replace them and save all the new mountings in case one ever breaks.

Of course then I used to know this crazy guy who wanted to paint artwork on them, and this guy was nuts, lemme tellya. It's a shame scirrosis got him before he could make the Darwin awards, hell he almost killed ME !

Demented too, the guy drew a whole cartoon series of Placenta the Clown and his faithful dog Entrails.

Now if these were the expensive blinds I might take the care to take them outside and hose them off, but only if they're metal ones or really wide or anything special.

If you go the replacement route, consider colors other than white. They "last" alot longer :-).

Gasoline. Take them in the back yard and douse them copiously with gasoline. Then throw a lit match on them and watch the cleaning power of gasoline!

U B smokin', girl!

BTW, crushing was a method the Puritans used in an attempt to get men to point out witches. The Puritans were versatile: They hung a few, burned a few, crushed a few, and drowned a few.
