There is a new problem that has arisen with Google operating in China. They do not have an actual license to operate, unlike their competitor Yahoo.

In China, sites are required to obtain an Internet content provider license from the government to operate; Google.cn shares a license with another Chinese site, and that could be a problem.

A report on Interfax recounted the latest issues Google faces with its China operations. Currently, Google shares an ICP license with a Chinese information site, Ganji.com.

Google is not even out of hot water with the US government, and they are in it with the Chinese. It has to suck to be them right about now. The only plus they have going for them is that they have just brought their big main datacenter online and are really cleaning up their search results (I am back in the top five again. Woohoo!)
