I use white willow bark for head aches, fever and joint pain. It is an aspirin like herb. The first aspirin was derived from it's cousin meadowsweet. If you are allergic to aspirin, have ulcers, or GI diseases, you should not take it. Also, do not take this if you are currently taking NSAIDS < /motrin/ibuprofen, alleve/naprosyn >
It works very well, better than ant pharmacuetical I have tried.

Nope, not at all. Only if you have any of the conditions mentioned above or tinnitis. < ringing in the ears >
It is as safe as aspirin. If you take aspirin, you can take this herb.

Most MD's are not too supportive of natural medicine. My experience as a nurse and patient is, they won't object, but will poo poo it. Pretty much I use herbs exclusively, except for my kidney medicine which I must take.

I've also had some luck with a B complex designed for migraines. I think it also contains willow bark and some other things.

Timely question,I just heard the other day that 'gatorade' can help get rid of a migraine ...not sure if it works ...but it might be worth a try.

Ps/Even though I Know that too much caffeine can produce headaches & coming right off it can give one a horrid one for a few days ...an aspirin taken with *caffeine (such as a hot tea or regular hot coffee) will enhance its pain relieving effect. This works for migraine as the major pain comes after the blood vessels constrict & then 'over dilate' ...so they need to be shrunk back to normal size ...& the caffeine helps to do this.

Disclaimer:I am not an accredited physician, the above is a lay persons shared experience.

*caffeine-Be Sure to Double check the pain aids ingredients as some products 'already' have the caffeine added.

While caffeine (or caffeine withdrawal) can aid in actually getting a headache- I chug a coke and some ibuprofen when I'm lacking in my exedrine becauseone of it's main components is caffeine, it can help.

Otherwise, water (or gatorade to help hydrate) can be a help to cleanse stuff out of the body, get overall more hydrated, and open up the blood vessels some more.

After having past disussions with you I'm willing to bet on a few things that are causing your headaches.

1. You're having caffiene with drawl.

2. You're having sugar withdrawl.

So try having some sweet tea. Then again you might be diabetic. So try green tea.

3. You may be having some blood pressure issues.

4. How much water do you drink compared to soda and such? What's your sodium intake?

On a daily basis I will drink a gallon of water, two cups of coffee, and eat 5 small meals a day. When I feel myself get hungry, I can easily start having a headache if I"m perfoming a vigours task.

Try changing your diet some first before seeing a Dr for a few blood test and prescription medications.

I don't drink any soda's except if I am out at a restarant, and that's not even like once a month. mmm I drink one or two glass of water a day. I don't know what soduim in take is, if you mean salt next to none we don't use salt. I don't at least. unless everything you eat has soduim. I don't eat much sugar either. I don't eat candy or cakes or chocolates or chips or nothing. Same with caffien no soda's no energey drinks.

I was out buying clothing when the headache hit.
