ORIGINAL: litaTshai *snippage* one believes after her last session she experienced Bottom Drop, and would like to know more about it. how long after the "session" does it tend to set in, how long can it be expected to last, what if anything can be done to prevent it, and how does one deal with it if it does set in? one thanks All for the advice. respectfully, lita {Tshai} lita {Tshai}, Before I get started here, I need to mention that what I am saying is based on my experience and may or may not reflect the experience of others. I agree with all of the suggestions posted by MistressDread. In particular the need for close contact in a safe and relaxed setting…. A coming down period if you will. What I have seen is that the more intense (emotionally and/or physically) the scene, the greater the likelihood of experiencing bottom drop. I recommend having some refreshments on hand for aftercare. And have found foods; even snack foods, with a high carb count to be beneficial. No alcohol. Fruit juice is also a good choice. The timing seems somewhat unpredictable, but I would advise against planning any kind of activity that requires either physical or mental awareness and/or concentration (such as driving, brain surgery, operating heavy machinery, etc) for a period of at least 16 hours after the scene. This means you should plan for recovery time when deciding when and how you should scene. Making an 8-hour drive, have an intense session then driving another 8 hours home is likely to a recipe for disaster. I have also personally experienced a bit of an altered mental state myself after an intense session. I always plan on some recovery time for myself as well. I don’t play if I am going to have to drive somewhere in the next few hours. As always your mileage may vary. Peace and Light Terry
