"only the good die young."

I was very sad to wake up this morning to find that one of my favorite baseball stars of all time, Kirby Puckett, died yesterday and that Dana Reeve, the beautiful singer/actress who was married to Christopher Reeve (Superman) and devoted her life to his paralysis right to the end, also died yesterday.....Both of them were 44 years young.

I hope we all appreciate today and make the most of it, as there are no gaurantees in life.

so very true, Fastlane, Sir. i heard this morning about Dana Reeves but was unaware of Kirby Puckett's passing.

It touched me to hear her sing....she had the voice of an angel and we never, or rarely, heard it on the networks until AFTER she died.

Maybe dying young is a reward, rather than the unfortunate act we have been conditioned to believe it is? I'd like to believe that she and Chris are dancing and singing together now, in heaven, for eternity. I can't help picturing him in the final scene of "Somewhere In Time", meeting his soulmate on the other side.......

I didn't hear about Kirby, either. Godspeed to him, also.

Definitely sad. Kirby was awesome... and good role model too. Also sad to hear about Dana Reeve and her fourteen-year-old son who gets left behind.

You often hear stories about older couples dying within a short period of time of the other. I have a romanticed about the notion that maybe they were so connected that the other simply couldnt live without their beloved. Perhaps this was the same for Christopher and Dana.

in the past few years (from what i've heard) Christopher & Dana Reeve's son has lost his grandmother, his father and now his mother. i heard her in a past interview this morning... right after her diagnosis... she wondered how her son will be able to deal with it all.
