Feels a little different, maybe, when viewed from the other side, maybe.

Male Anglo-Saxon Protestants are the only group that is still legal and fun to discriminate against. Makes me sick. Just look at television ads and most programs. I spent 30 years in the television and motion picture industry, so I know a little about what is and what is not safe to put on the air or in the theater. Also am pretty sick of this kind of humor.

That kind of laughter kills relationships, in my experience. It is very expensive amusement. Demeaning anyone in a relationship is demeaning at the minimum and lethal in most cases to that relationship.

pointing and laughing --- watch the intelligent man smile, pull up his pants, and walk out the door with no regrets and no intent to ever return for such abuse. Unless, of course, he is an emotional masochist, in which case all bets are off.

I don't have the book in front of me to reference the exact century, but I read that a popular method of birth control in the early centuries was Alligator Dung. (OMG, can you even imagine!)

I believe you refer to the Pharaohnic era of Egypt. The alligators of the Nile provided the women of that civilization with contraceptives.

Is what we do really all that less disgusting? The Hormone Replacement Therapy Drug for estrogen replacement Premarin is an abbreviation for: Pre = pregnant, Mar = mare, and In, for the 4th and fifth letters in urine. It's made of pregnant mare urine. See how far we have come?

And we have the unmitigated gall to call ourselves civilized.

That's quite the extrapolation sir, given that she was talking about a penis (any penis on any man, from anywhere). I wouldn't do it, nor do I condone it, but you're being a tad hypersensitive here.

I agree, emotional/verbal abuse is just as bad or worse than physical, so am with you there; it's one of the many reasons I'm not massively into humiliation.. M
