Alternate Sexual Choices
not to be confused with
Alternate Lifestyles...
These words are dedicated to the exploration
of the miracle of human sexuality, in all its
wonder and diversity. We believe that sexuality
is to be celebrated. Progress can never be made
in human affairs by the suppression or repression
of information, or by spreading disinformation.
Speech is most in need of protection precisely
when what one is saying is most controversial or
most objectionable---it generally doesn't need
protection otherwise.
Humans have a strong interest in sex, but it is
relatively rare to encounter rational discussion
about sex, even between partners. As with all
activities about which people are passionate,
and which involve biological drives, the topic
of sexuality is rife with controversy,
misunderstanding, stereotypes, and moralizing.
Widespread availability of information about
sexual matters can help facilitate better
communication, and communication is the most
important skill that one can bring to any
relationship. The most important sexual organ
is the brain.
BDSM
The term BDSM is formed from three other terms:
B&D
Bondage and Discipline
D/s
Dominance and submission
S/M
Sadism and Masochism (sometimes called Sex Magick)
BDSM includes a wide range of activities involving
a negotiated transfer of power between consenting
ADULT partners. BDSM is not about abuse or other
nonconsensual activities.
You will notice that SEX is not a word used in
any of these discriptions of the BDSM Alternate
Lifestyles.
HomoSEXuality and BiSEXuality
You will notice the word SEX in these words which
define them to be Alternate Sexual Choices.
According to current research, relatively few
people exclusively restrict themselves to partnering
one gender or the other as adults; rather, most people
fall somewhere in the middle, with a preference in
one direction, but sometimes loving, or having erotic
thoughts about, or sexual interactions with, the other
gender.
The famous Kinsey Scale assigns numbers to these shades
of sexual orientation, as follows:
0
entirely heterosexual (attracted only to members of the opposite sex)
1
largely heterosexual, but with incidental homosexual history
2
largely heterosexual, but with a distinct homosexual history
3
equally heterosexual and homosexual
4
largely homosexual, but with a distinct heterosexual history
5
largely homosexual, but with incidental heterosexual history
6
entirely homosexual (attracted only to members of the same sex)

Polyamory
The practice of carrying on simultaneous relationships with
more than one partner. This relationship can be Familiar in
state or sexual and covers both Alternate and Sexually Differnt
Lifestyles. Polyamory is not cheating, and it doesn't
(necessarily) mean group sex, or casual promiscuous sex, or even
any sex at all...

Transgender Issues
Male and female are not such absolutes as modern society would
have us believe. All of us exhibit both male ("butch") and female
("femme") characteristics, in varying proportions. Transgendered
folks take the gender bending a bit further than most.
Sum word that are used in Gay, Lesbian, or Bi conversation.

Crossdressers
Occasionally wear clothing of the opposite gender. Most crossdressers
are heterosexual.
Transvestites
Dress to look like the opposite gender. Some transvestites wear other-
gender clothing full-time, in their public lives, and are successfully
passing as the other gender.
Transsexuals
Believe that they were born into the wrong gender body, and may work
to correct that error, through such measures as hormone therapy and
gender reassignment surgery.
Hermaphrodites
Exhibit sexual characteristics of both genders. Very few people are
born with both male and female sexual characteristics; some hermaphrodites
take hormones to bring out characteristics of the other gender, for
example a man may take estrogen pills in order to grow breasts.
Intersexed Persons
Are born with chromosomal or hormonal birth defects that cause them
to not readily fit into "male" or "female" categories.
Alternate Lifestyles- religion, these all deal with not only alternative
religios beliefs but sexual ones as well.

out not only for those whom are new to the lifestyles
of Alternating Views but to better understand where
they sit in the scheme of things that are out there in
the big wide world and just what they mean.
